Once common but now scarce and fully protected by law. Otters remain relatively uncommon, although often overlooked, throughout west Wales. One of the ecologists is regarded as one of the UK’s leading otter consultants and can carry out detailed surveys and advise on conservation and mitigation requirements.
Other consultants have experience in surveying for this species and can also provide appropriate advice. Any development in the region of a water body or river, which could impact or change it, is likely to be asked to carry out a survey.
